Texas man with natural immunity DIES after being forced to take COVID-19 vaccine while awaiting lung transplant

Bobby Bolin, a 49-year-old Texas man with natural immunity to the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), was forced by his doctors to take the vaccine to remain on the lung transplant waitlist. He died after taking his second dose of the dangerous vaccine. Before his passing, Bolin was on a waitlist for new lungs because of his COPA syndrome, a rare genetic autoimmune disorder. According to his wife, Amy, the doctors who evaluated him for a double lung transplant found that he only had 15 percent lung capacity. Once Bolin was approved for a transplant and placed on the waitlist, he was told he needed to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to remain eligible even though he had already recovered from the virus. "Our entire family actually came down with COVID in Dec. 2020," said Amy. "When that happened for Bobby, he was immediately given the antibody transfusion. His transplant team was certain that because of his minimal lung capacity this would be certain death for him, but he didn't really have any side effects from it. A loss of smell was all that really lingered for him." Amy tried to push back against Bobby's doctors who were trying to force him to get vaccinated. She did not understand why they wanted him to get the vaccine even though he already had antibodies to protect him against COVID-19 due to his previous infection. In the end, Bobby relented and took the COVID-19 vaccine to stay on the transplant waitlist. He became fully vaccinated on April 17 after taking his second dose of Moderna's vaccine. Shortly after getting fully vaccinated, Bobby developed a pulmonary embolism and atrial fibrillation. The latter is a heart condition that causes, among other things, irregular heartbeats, chest pain and extreme fatigue. After developing these heart conditions, his health deteriorated rapidly. He passed away on Aug. 20. He never received his new lungs. "In the medical field, your goal is supposed to be to improve and save people's lives, and instead you're giving them one option – you either do this or you can't get a life-saving transplant," she said. "People have the right to take the shot if that is what they think is best for them," said Amy. "I never felt like this was best for him … ever, ever, ever. And to be told again that you can either do this or not be eligible for transplant left him in a space of complete desperation – and he did it out of complete desperation."

People on transplant waitlists being forced to get vaccinated or be denied care

Unfortunately, Bobby's case is not unique in the United States. Many health systems all over the country are removing all of their unvaccinated patients from organ transplant waitlists. (Related: Colorado hospital system demands that all organ transplant recipients first destroy their own organs with covid spike protein vaccines before receiving new organs from donors.) So-called health experts claim that requiring vaccinations is necessary to protect the health of organ transplant recipients. "Transplant patients are much more vulnerable to infection," claimed Dr. Camille Kotton, clinical director of transplant and immunocompromised host infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital. "And transplant patients are among the higher risk for developing severe life-threatening COVID-19." One of the people being directly impacted by these vaccination mandates is Leilani Lutali, who was told by her health providers in Colorado that she needed to be fully vaccinated to get a kidney transplant. Lutali has stage five kidney disease. Without a new kidney, she is at great risk of dying. She has refused to take the vaccine because her faith forbids it. "As a Christian, I can't support anything that has to do with abortion of babies, and the sanctity of life for me is precious." Lutaliu feels like her hospital has become so insistent on "saving" her from COVID-19 that it is willing to let her potentially die by preventing her from getting necessary transplant surgery. Unlikely to get any kind of quality care from her current provider in Colorado, Lutali is searching for another hospital, possibly in Texas or Florida, where she can get a transplant without needing to be vaccinated. "I have hope that something will come along that is something I can live with in terms of my choices," she said.
