Insane: US taxpayers are now picking up the salary tab for Ukraine's corrupt government

Even if you believe that Russia's invasion of Ukraine in late February was wrong and that President Vladimir Putin is an aggressor who threatens global peace, the fact of the matter is, the government in Kyiv was corrupt long before Putin attacked. In fact, to prove that point, Ukraine was home to several shady 'business deals' involving President Joe Biden's corrupt son, Hunter Biden; he served as a 'board member' at the energy conglomerate Burisma for years and made millions of dollars, even as the company should have been investigated. But since the invasion, the U.S. and the Western globalist cabal has chosen a side -- that of Ukraine -- and as such pumped tens of billions of dollars worth of military equipment, arms and money into the corrupt den of Kyiv, as though we learned absolutely nothing from doing the same thing in Afghanistan, which was a money pit. According to a press release from USAID, American taxpayers are now picking up the cost of salaries for Ukraine's corrupt government:

The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in coordination with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, is providing an additional $4.5 billion in direct budgetary support to the Government of Ukraine to help alleviate the acute budget deficit caused by Putin’s brutal war of aggression. The Government of Ukraine will receive the funding in tranches, beginning with a $3 billion disbursement in August. This contribution was made possible with generous bipartisan support from Congress.

These funds provided by the United States, through the World Bank, allow the Government of Ukraine to maintain essential functions to its people, including social and financial assistance to Ukrainians further pushed into poverty since the start of the war, children with disabilities, and internally displaced persons.

"Once these additional funds are fully disbursed, the U.S. government will have provided $8.5 billion in direct budgetary support to the Government of Ukraine," the press release continued, going on to inform American taxpayers that Ukraine has essentially become a 'client' state and that they will be on the hook for rebuilding the country. "The resources provided today build on previous budget support, enabling the Ukrainian government to carry out core functions – for example, keeping gas and electricity flowing to hospitals, schools, and other critical infrastructure, supporting the provision of humanitarian supplies to citizens, and continuing to pay the salaries of civil servants, healthcare workers and teachers," it said (our emphasis). "Robust safeguards put in place by the World Bank, coupled with USAID-funded, expert third-party oversight embedded within the Ukrainian government, ensure accountability and transparency in the use of these funds," the press release went on to say, falsely claiming that American taxpayer funds are being 'protected.' Once the money hits Ukrainian accounts, there is no way U.S. officials can control where it goes, the same as with U.S. military weapons provided to the Ukrainian armed forces.

"Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, USAID has been coordinating with humanitarian partners in the country and region to provide Ukrainians with lifesaving humanitarian assistance while also ramping up critical development assistance to respond to cyber-attacks and threats to the energy sector, countering disinformation, supporting small businesses and the agriculture sector, documenting human rights violations, meeting essential health needs, and ensuring the continued functioning of local, regional, and national government levels," the press release continued before essentially stating that Ukraine will have continued access to American taxpayer funds for the foreseeable future.

"The United States remains committed to supporting Ukraine and its people in the wake of Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war," it added.

Meanwhile, American civil servants, healthcare workers, teachers -- and border personnel -- continue to be pummeled by the Democrat-led inflation onslaught caused by overspending and Biden's horrifically bad economic policies.

But hey, at least Ukrainian officials are being taken care of.
